I have been slacking, again, on the blog front. Most of it is because I have been crazy busy. Some highlights (photos below):
- Lots of great weekend rides with friends, from 30-50 miles. It's amazing how much of Oregon you miss when you're in a car (like the horse chasing us along a fence as we cruised by in rural Oregon City).
- I am back in the pool as part of half-Ironman training--oh how I missed swimming!
- I've become a semi-morning person, sometimes waking at 5:30 to be in the pool by 6. The water aerobics ladies can time their watches by me.
- Bill has been very supportive throughout my training--he is at the grocery store now because I am too tired to go. He deals with the early alarm clock, trudges through my slow long runs, and gets up early on Saturdays to brave our cold bike rides. I'm a lucky girl!
- Lots of changes at work. The freight business is not exactly lucrative these days, and we are still wary of possible layoffs, but I keep busy writing training.
- My sister found THE wedding dress. She looks so beautiful, and we can't wait till August. (I might add that it is such a relief to not have to be the one trying on a dozen dresses!) (Cait asked me to add that the dress in the pic below is NOT "the dress", and Liz will not be dressed like that in the wedding ... heh)
- My parents' dog, Kai, whom I raised for the first year of his life before I moved to Hawaii, is on his last legs. We will have to put him down soon. I am of course incredibly sad about it, but he is miserable. I am confident there is a doggie heaven for him.

Perhaps we should clarify that the dress I am wearing in that picture is NOT the wedding gown! Ha! (Perhaps more important is that Liz will not be wearing that awful get-up, although that would be hilarious.)
