Bill and I had a wonderful holiday season, though for some reason, it didn't feel as "Christmas-y" as years past. You'd think with all the snow we had on the ground (13+ inches), it would have, but I think the economy and financial fears dampened spirits a bit.
We spent "pre-Christmas" with my side of the family, enjoying a potluck dinner at our house with my parents, my sister, and her fiancee. My sister generously donated gifts of time that will also benefit others; Cait and I are volunteering at a cat shelter next month. My mother made me the most beautiful apron, which will come in so useful (do I sound like I am from the 50s? I love it.). My parents st
ayed with us that night, and the next day, we saw them off on the first day of Arctic Blast 2008. Fortunately, they made it home safely!
A week or so and several inches of snow later, Bill and I headed to Missoula, MT, to spend Christmas with his parents. We had a great time--Bill got in his annual football game with his (so they believe) non-aging friends. We even got to visit Seeley Lake, seriously the Normal Rockwell picture of the holidays, on our last night there. But for the most part, we stayed in out of the cold and played Wii. His parents can bowl!
