Vineman 70.3

Today I registered for the Vineman 70.3 (half-Ironman) in July 2009. It was, justifiably, very difficult to click the Submit button on the registration form. Having only done an Olympic and several sprints, I can't imagine racing for 6 or so hours straight, but I think my new coach will get me there!

Now, to solve the problem of finding a place to stay that weekend ... The race is in wine country in the height of summer; hotels can get away with murder. If worse comes to worst, we will stay in the tent trailer. Talk about ghetto.

That's hardcore! Nice work. You have an actual coach?

The reason for the comment is to introduce myself and my company - Beica. It's an acronym for "Because I Can". Words to live by as I'm sure you're aware. We are an aspiring outdoor/athletic line of clothing in Chico, CA. We're trademarked, got the website up and running, and have shown up to a few local events with positive responses.

Our website is www.beicaonline.com

Anyway, I'm looking to grow the brand and thought you might be remotely interested in being part of our website, wearing a jacket, shirt, or hat here or there? Even if you could blog on the site, or start a forum thread here or there? I'd just like to grow the Beica Ambassador area of the company, and thought you may have some advise on how to do it through your athlete involvement. Thanks.

Ben Stookesberry and Jesse Coombs (expedition kayakers) have our Beica logo splatted on their tour van in support of the mantra. THey think it's great, as they a going over their 75'+ waterfalls. Hey cool for starters! Also, Frank Condon, from Chico, is a Beica fan by breaking the US Masters (over 60) mile in 5:26.

If you have any interest in chatting about possibilities, let me know.

Merry Christmas,

Craig Almaguer
