I'm a fiancee! (Cooool ...)

And here I thought we were just taking another ski trip to Ski Bowl--a regular weekend event--but I was pleasantly surprised to find Bill had other plans.
I started to realize something was up when Bill got a little too annoyed that there was a huge crowd and several race courses set up right where we had our first kiss, under the Cascade chair. I was thinking "geez, we'll just ski another run," but Bill seemed a little put out. However, we proceeded to ski down the run right next to "first kiss run." Not to be put out by a little ski race, Bill stopped partway down, stepped out of his skis, and got down on one knee. I was already freaking out at this point, and it took me several seconds to say "of course!" But I managed to get it out, right before about a hundred ski racers descended behind Bill.
Unfortunately, I had to cover up my new beautiful ring with gloves, but not for long. We headed straight for the Warming Hut to celebrate.
Still in shock with a perma-grin as we left the mountain, Bill managed to convince me that I was disoriented when we left the parking lot heading the wrong way--toward Hood River. I soon realized I was not disoriented, and we were indeed headed toward Hood River.
When we arrived, I found he had booked a room in a bed and breakfast, and had somehow managed to pack clothes for me without me noticing (though I had been searching for my sweater the previous evening ... hmm). When we got up to the room, there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us! We went through the bottle, and then walked downtown for a nice dinner. Breakfast this morning was amazing, and it snowed outside while we ate. A perfect weekend!
I'm incredibly lucky to be able to share my life with Bill. He's been everything I've always wanted and more, and I'm looking forward to every moment of our future together!
