The
Ducks beat the Arizona State Sun Devils 35-23 in front of a record crowd Saturday. Bill and I, along with my parents, sister and her girlfriend, Liz, and 59,000+ other fans, watched the Ducks beat the devil (heh) out of ASU on Saturday. The game was not without its nailbiting moments--the Ducks will always be Ducks--but overall, both teams played really well.
Cait and Liz left Portland at 7am Saturday to secure a great spot for the FJ, and we all had a great time tailgating across from Autzen (thanks, Masons!) for a few hours leading up to the game.
The sun stayed out, but a chill settled in as the day wore on. According to the Autzen announcer, the sunny seats were a balmy 55 degrees, and the shady seats (our section) a chilly 40. However, we managed to stay warm thanks to constant standing up and sitting down every time anything remotely significant happened on the field ...
After the big win, I am praying the Ducks make it to the championships. But having spent the last 15 years of my life a fan, I know not to count on anything!
